ACR Community NPC (Reg. 2024/211555/08), trading as ACR Hub (“ACR”, “we”, “us”, “our”), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website (acrhub.org), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
ACR Community NPC is the non-profit organisation, funded by Alternative Conflict Resolution (Pty) Ltd, that administers the ADR Children’s Court Mediation Project and related family mediation, mentorship and outreach work. We are the “responsible party” for personal information collected through this website.
Postal/physical address: ACR, Strubensvalley, Roodepoort, Gauteng, South Africa.
Email: info@mediationnetwork.co.za

Our Information Officer
Under POPIA, every organisation must appoint an Information Officer responsible for compliance. Our Information Officer can be contacted at info@mediationnetwork.co.za. [ACR Hub team: please replace this with your appointed Information Officer’s name and, once registered, their registration reference with the Information Regulator.]
What personal information we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us. Through this website, that happens mainly via our contact form, where we ask for:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- The reason you are getting in touch (e.g. applying to the mentorship programme, funding or partnering with a court, media or general enquiry)
- Your message
We do not use this contact form to collect information from the public about specific family court mediation cases; referrals into our mediation and court projects are handled directly with referring courts and professionals, not through this website.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit through the contact form only to respond to your enquiry, referral, partnership request or application, and to keep a record of that correspondence. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing without your separate consent.
Who we share it with
We keep the information you provide as limited as possible, but the following service providers process it on our behalf so the site and our communications can function:
- Our website host, which stores the site and its data on its servers.
- SMTP2GO, the email delivery service we use to send contact-form submissions to our inbox.
- Google, whose Fonts service loads the typefaces used on this site, and whose Maps service powers the map embedded on our Contact page. Loading these may share your IP address with Google.
- Akismet (Automattic), which we use to help detect spam.
Some of these providers operate servers outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders in this way, we rely on the fact that these are well-established providers with their own data protection safeguards, consistent with POPIA’s conditions for cross-border transfer.
Cookies
This site uses only the minimal cookies needed for WordPress to function (for example, if a team member logs in to manage the site). We do not currently run analytics or advertising cookies. If you leave a comment on a post, you may opt in to WordPress saving your name, email address and website in a cookie for your convenience next time.
How long we keep your information
We keep contact-form enquiries and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your enquiry and for our administrative, legal or reporting purposes, after which we delete or anonymise it.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, in line with POPIA’s security safeguard requirements. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Children’s information
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Our work supporting children in the family court mediation process is carried out offline, directly with courts and professionals, under appropriate safeguards, not through this website.
Your rights under POPIA
As a data subject, you have the right to:
- Be told when your personal information is being collected.
- Find out whether we hold personal information about you, and request access to it.
- Request that we correct, delete or destroy your personal information where appropriate.
- Object to the processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds.
- Object to your information being used for direct marketing.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator about how we have handled your information.
- Take legal action for breach of the protection of your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@mediationnetwork.co.za.
