The ADR Children’s Court Mediation Project resolves care, contact and parental-responsibility disputes at no cost to the families involved — turning what mediation reaches into orders of court, not just agreements on paper.
Mediation with the weight of a court order.
Families are referred into the project directly through the Children’s Court roll. A NABFAM-accredited mediator works with both parties to reach an agreement on care, contact or parental responsibility — then helps convert that agreement into a legally binding order of court, relieving pressure on an overloaded roll while giving families a resolution that holds up.

Growing demand. Funding is what decides how much we can meet.
The project’s results have already generated direct invitations to take this model into further Children’s Courts, and to extend it beyond family law into other restorative, public-interest disputes. Every invitation has come from the judiciary itself — not from outreach on our part. Which of them we can take on comes down to one thing: funding.
Every mediator here trained through our Mentorship Programme.
Because the Mentorship Programme trains and accredits new mediators through the courts themselves, every year of operation renews the volunteer pool rather than depleting it — endorsed by NABFAM and CPD-aligned for the mediators who deliver it.
