The people and organisations behind every case.
Every mediation that happens inside the Children’s Court is run by someone who volunteered their time, unpaid — backed by organisations who refer, accredit and stand behind that work. This page is our thank-you to both.
Two people who lead by mediating.

Karen Malan B.Proc, LLB
Founded the ADR Court Project and has led its mediation practice since 2014. Directs strategy, supervises both courts and signs every Certificate of Attendance.

Theresa Luyt
A NABFAM-accredited mediator since 2020, Theresa serves as senior mediator on the Court Projects and NABFAM Accreditation Supervisor for the Mentorship Programme — signing off every candidate’s supervised assessment.
Our top contributors of 2026.
These are the volunteer mediators who carried the most sessions in 2026 — part of a roll of 40, every one of them giving their time unpaid. Contact details are added at each mediator’s own request.
Mrs Nkateko Maluleke
The organisations behind the project.
Every referral, accreditation and standard that makes this project credible in a courtroom comes from somewhere. These are the partners who make it possible.
ProBono.Org
South Africa’s pro bono legal referral organisation — refers matters into the Court Projects and nominated it for the 2026 PILnet Global Pro Bono Awards.

NABFAM
The National Accreditation Board for Family Mediators — the body under which ACR Academy’s Mentorship Programme is recognised.

SAAM
